This week was full of fun as we experimented with mixing colors. We created colorful snacks (a hands-on favorite!) and learned all about the color wheel through engaging activities.
Our favorite books this week were the wonderfully interactive "Mix It Up!"
and the classic "Mouse Paint"

At breakfast this morning, our group was singing, "Do you want to EAT a snowman...?"
Later today, we played 'Minute To Win It' games. The favorite by far was Snowman Stack Up:

Our annual field trip to the pumpkin patch
So thankful for the wonderful families that continue to participate in this fun tradition!
What a nice surprise!
A local family blessed us by passing on their handmade wooden block set, and our group has enjoyed exploring the different shapes and building a variety of structures.

'Mystery Bags' Sensory Game
During our 'Five Senses' themed-week, we played a guessing game. The children were presented with a group of sealed paper bags.
We felt and shook the bags, trying to guess what item was inside of each one. Our predictions were recorded. Then we opened the bags:

Mixing Lab
One of our activities this summer that the schoolagers found particularly engaging was a Mixing Lab. Available supplies included cornstarch, baking soda, salt, vinegar, water, paint, and milk.

Below are some final random photos for the year, including the first day of school for our older elementary students and a field trip to Old Man's Cave to see a program by Naturalist Pat Quackenbush.
I was impressed to learn that three children from our group had all been honored by their elementary school teachers as "Students of the Month" - so proud of them!
