Article: Talking To Toddlers

Butterfly Release

We released our Painted Lady butterflies into the wild this week.  Lollipop, Dotty, Elmo, Flower, Pretty, Spiderman, Rose and Zoomer stayed around the playground for a while to say "Thank You" and "Goodbye" - then they took to the skies!

The children have thoroughly enjoyed this project, watching our tiny caterpillars grow and transform.  Of the ten caterpillars ordered from Insect Lore, we ended up with eight lovely butterflies.

A day at the park

This week, we had our first Summer Field Trip to the park for Story Time. This is a favorite for our group each year! After stories, songs and a craft with Miss Kathy, we play for a while and then eat our picnic lunch.

We had a special treat this week - the children were given suckers at the post office when we took our pen pal letters to be mailed.  Everyone had a great time, and were ready to cool down and rest by the time we headed back.  Looking forward to doing it again next week!  :)

Pen Pals

We have become Pen Pals with a daycare in Texas for the summer!  This week, we put our first package together and took it to the post office.  Here are the kids happily working on writing to our new friends...
